The Exceptions Dialog Box

Use this Exceptions dialog box to view and edit your exceptional items regarding the following options:

  • Capitalize first letter of sentences: Asutype will not capitalize words following any item in this exceptions list.
  • Ignore words beginning with certain prefixes: Asutype will not correct words beginning with any prefix in this exceptions list.
  • Ignore words ending with certain postfixes: Asutype will not correct words ending with any postfix in this exceptions list.

After editing your data, click "OK" button to confirm the change and save the data, or click "Cancel" to discard the change (no data saving then).

Note (Trial Version only): The free trial version cannot save data changes permanently. All changes are available in the current working session only; they will be discarded when you exit Asutype. If you want to save your data permanently, use the full version instead.

Data Editing

Editing data in the list is simple.

Add a new word

  1. Type the word in the edit box
  2. Click "Add" button

Note: The current word in the edit box is used to select the best match in the word list.

Replace a word

Either:

  1. Double click the word in the word list
  2. Type the new word in the edit box
  3. Click "Replace" button

Or:

  1. Type the new word in the edit box
  2. Hold <SHIFT> and select the word to be replaced in the word list
  3. Click "Replace" button

Delete a word

  1. Select the word in the word list
  2. Click "Delete" button

Import all words from an external source

  1. Click "Import" button
  2. Enter the file name and click "Open" button

Asutype can import words from a plain text file (either ANSI or UNICODE, see below). It will announce a message when the importing is completed.

Export all words to a text file

  1. Click "Export" button
  2. Enter the file name and click "Save" button

Asutype can export words to a plain text file (either ANSI or UNICODE, see below). It will announce a message when the exporting is completed.

The Plain Text File for Import / Export

A plain text file that Asutype imports/exports words from/to is a plain ANSI or UNICODE text file (e.g. no formatting information such as bold, italic, tables, images etc. - you can use NotePad to create a plain text file) with each word in a single line. Lines starting with a semicolon (;) are comment lines. Blank lines and comment lines will be ignored when importing. For example:
